| Louis Garneau Gemini Jacket - REVIEW |
 |
For the past two seasons the Gemini jacket from Louis Garneau has kept me dry, warm and clean. This jacket uses a Wind Dry outer that is stretchable, waterproof, breathable and windproof. Thus, I have been able to use it in the spring months as a light-weight waterproof/ windproof shell, but then layer underneath and ride it well into February.
As with most Garneau apparel, this piece doubles perfectly as a Cross Country Ski jacket. Its breath ability is quite evident when compared to other Gortex/waterproof materials; and does not leave you with a clammy feeling after riding and/or skiing. Other nice features include; a low backing, reflective logos, a high collar, two outer rear pockets and two front inner and outer pockets. All in all, the Gemini makes for great “off-season” multi-sport jacket.

PROS:
- waterproof, breathable, light weight, semi-pro fit (making for easy movement)
CONS:
- white looks great, but is hard to keep clean in the climate this jacket thrives in.

| Louis Garneau Vulcano Gloves - REVIEW |
 |
The Vulcano is simply the BEST outdoor cycling glove available. I have ridden these gloves since their beginning as the “Lobster Claw”. They have provided many miles of warm (toasty warm) hands. I have been out in -37C weather with these and my hands are still warm.
With the M vent system you have maximum breath ability, windtex front for added protection from the cold, an extra long cuff to hide under sleeves, these gloves are a must have for the all season cyclist.
PROS:
- Warm, Warm, Warm!
- Nice fit, with cozy fleece inside
- Terry cloth for the runny nose
CONS: None to date
PRICE $ 49.99

| The Shimano MW02 Winter Shoe - Review |
 |
if you are trying to keep your feet warm while riding this fall and winter these are the shoes for you. This is now my second winter season riding with the MW02 and they are a great purchase.
They are constructed of with Gore Tex which makes them waterproof and breathable! The fit is very comfortable with a stiff pedaling sole. These shoes keep your feet toasty warm. I have ridden them off road, road, rail trail and even a few cyclo-cross races. The coldest mtn bike ride was -35C and we were out for about an hour.
PROS
CONS
- Not great in cold windy (-15 and below) on the road
- SPD only, no road cleat
PRICE: $239.99

| ARC LION ULTRA - Review |
 |
I have now run the Arc Lion Ultra for a year now. I must say it is the best system I have ever run. The brightness of the light itself is incredible, it honestly lights up the night.
I have raced one 24 hr race(solo) with it and multiple trail rides, summer and winter. It even worked well at -30 deg C.
Charging is simple plug it in and leave it, in 3 hrs it is charged and ready to go. As for the burn time I have yet to use the complete battery up and I have had a 3 plus hour night ride.
If you are looking for a worry free light that provides a lot of light power, this is your system. I plan on racing the Summer Solstice Solo this year with it again. Johnny 5 is running the same system this year and he loves his. When the two of us are out, we light up the night with these systems. |
